Sonnet Chair 將充氣布藝結構與不鏽鋼框架結合

Sonnet Chair 將豆袋椅的柔軟質感,與充氣椅的結構性相結合。此椅由 Carlo Livaja 設計,採用一個充氣布球,並以彎曲不鏽鋼管加以定形及固定。椅座部分呈現明確的舌形座位設計,而充氣椅背則為倚靠提供支撐。有別於傳統豆袋椅任由布料自由塌陷的方式,這款椅子的骨架會在布套充氣時決定其最終形態。成品是一張將充氣本身納入結構系統一部分、而非單純用作製造軟墊效果的椅子。

The Sonnet Chair combines the softness of a beanbag with the structure of an inflatable chair. Designed by Carlo Livaja, it uses an inflatable fabric ball shaped and restrained by a bent stainless steel pipe. The base forms a defined, tongue-shaped seating element, while the inflated back provides support for leaning. Rather than allowing the fabric to collapse freely like a traditional beanbag, the frame determines its final form as air fills the cover. The result is a chair that uses inflation as part of its structural system rather than simply as a way to create cushioning.

The design takes shape through its inflation process. The fabric begins as a loose form before expanding until it meets the stainless steel frame, which limits further movement and establishes the chair’s silhouette. This combination of a rigid structural element and flexible fabric allows the seating surface and backrest to retain their intended positions while remaining visually soft. The approach follows a broader exploration of inflatable furniture in which rigid components control expansion.
