RacePace, a sports-technology company specializing in personalized race strategy for endurance athletes, served as the Official Race Planner Partner for the HOKA Val d'Aran by UTMB event in the Spanish Pyrenees. As part of this venture, the brand provided approximately 7,000 trail runners with AI-generated, segment-by-segment plans that incorporated each individual's fitness level, the specific course topography, and real-time race-day weather conditions to optimize pacing, effort, and fueling strategies.
The Official Race Planner Partner rendered its recommendations on an interactive three-dimensional course map and exported them directly to compatible GPS watches from Garmin, COROS, Huawei, and Suunto. All in all, RacePace ensured that athletes could access their personalized guidance seamlessly during competition without needing to consult paper cheat sheets or memorize complex instructions. Each plan included target heart rate zones, pace ranges, and a dynamic nutrition and hydration strategy that adjusted based on the changing demands of the terrain.
