OpenAI acquired presentation startup NextSlide, bringing its team into ChatGPT to continue developing AI tools for visual communication. NextSlide founder Ahmed Beshry described the startup’s product as a system that could transform prompts, notes, documents or research into polished, editable presentations. Financial terms were not disclosed, and Beshry said the acquisition took place earlier in 2026.
NextSlide focused on turning source material into editable slide decks, combining content organization with presentation design. The acquisition brings the startup’s team into OpenAI, where its members are now working on ChatGPT and pursuing the same broader goal of helping users communicate ideas more clearly through AI-assisted creation tools.
