Basilisk Self-Healing Concrete 自我修復混凝土,運用嵌入混凝土內部或透過添加劑供應的產石灰岩細菌,打造出一套自主修復系統,當水分及氧氣滲入受損區域時,即會以碳酸鈣填補裂縫。這些細菌在受到濕氣及氧氣觸發前,一直保持休眠狀態,一旦被觸發,便會代謝所供應的養分,並沉澱出石灰岩,封住裂縫並恢復防水性;隨著新裂縫的形成,這個過程可重複多次,減少人手維護及針對性修復的需要。

Basilisk Self‑Healing Concrete uses limestone‑producing bacteria embedded within concrete or supplied via additives to form an autonomous repair system that fills cracks with calcium carbonate when water and oxygen enter the damage zone. The bacteria remain dormant until triggered by moisture and oxygen, at which point they metabolize supplied nutrients and precipitate limestone that seals cracks and restores water tightness; the process can repeat multiple times as new cracks form, reducing the need for manual maintenance and targeted repairs.

The technology is offered in multiple product formats suitable for new and existing concrete, with the bacterial system relying on the alkaline environment provided by the concrete or the product formulation to support bacterial activity and growth. Intended benefits include improved durability, reduced ingress of corrosive agents to reinforcement, extended service life of infrastructure and water‑retaining structures, and lower maintenance interventions, while product selection and integration depend on the application and desired repair performance.
